Commemorative Poster: Centralia Massacre 1919
Client
CDIA Project
Project Notes
This poster was created to commemorate the Centralia Massacre, a labor dispute turned violent in the logging town of Centralia, Washington in 1919.
The primary conflict was between members of the Industrial Workers of the World and the Amearican Legion, culminating during an Armistice Day parade when Legionnaires stormed the IWW hall. As the IWW tried to defend the hall, several Legionnaires were shot and killed. That night an angry mob lynched IWW member Wesley Everest in retaliation.
The poster depicts a lynched man hanging between the symbols of the rival factions, like industrial gears pulling him downward, as the dove of peace flies away from the scene. The state of Washington can be seen in the background, with the man’s feet coming to rest over Centralia.

Concert Poster: Rusty Belle
Client
Rusty Belle
Project Notes
This poster was created to promote the Amherst, MA band Rusty Belle.
The design concept was that of a 19th Century European circus poster, reflecting the band’s flair for off-beat showmanship and Avant-garde instrumentation.
The illustration is based on the band’s promotional photos, which depict the members sharing a single bicycle.

Movie Poster Concept: After the Storm
Client
Amiee Corrigan and Franco Sacchi
Project Notes
This poster (and the next one) were concept designs for the independent film After the Storm: The Project Joy Story, a documentary about art therapy helping kids recover after Hurricane Katrina in Biloxi, Mississippi.
I submitted these two designs for consideration… right before the investors decided to change the name and focus of the film. At least got a couple of nice portfolio peices out of it though.

Concert Poster: Melissa Errico - Lullabies & Wildflowers
Client
Velour Music Group
Project Notes
This was a double-sided promotional poster for a children’s album by Velour recording artist Melissa Errico.
I modeled the in-store side after the CD cover art, taking more of an illustrative approach for the tour side of the poster.
